Clinical Consultants

A Clinical consultation is requested when your GP is seeking for further or specialist opinion or management. A consultation consists of the neurologist assessing you and listening to your medical history and then suggesting further actions like testing or management depending on the scenario.

A neurological consultation would be recommended for multiple neurological (Brain, spinal cord, nerve and muscle related) reasons including but not limited to; diabetic neuropathy, nerve pain, cervical or lumbar radiculopathy, CTS, myopathy, dementia, Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, MS, MND, headaches or possible suitability for Botox administration for neurological conditions.

A new patient consultation can take up to 30 minutes.

You should bring information on your medical history, any medications you are taking and any related investigations/tests like MRI. You will also need your Medicare/Veteran affairs/Pensioners card and doctors referral if you wish to claim some or most of the costs back.

Neurophysiology

Neurophysiology refers to objective tests of nerve function. This might be recommended in cases of weakness, numbness, tingling, etc. We offer testing on site performed by highly trained neurophysiologists and neurophysiology technicians.

For more detail please see the Neurophysiology page

Assessment for injectable therapies for neurological conditions

For an assessment for whether an injectable therapy is appropriate for you, the doctor will assess the type of neurological condition and if you are suitable for injection, where to inject and also if you are suitable for a Medicare rebate. If you do not fall into a category where the government will subsidise your treatment then a quotation of the treatment will be given.

Please bring your referral, any medications and related investigations/tests.

For a full list of treatable conditions please see the Injectable Therapies page
